KORE is the company and website of all-around superman and good friend, Kent Kroeker. If you know Kent, you know the man just does NOT ever slow down. Appropriately, Kent has been racing in Baja for over a decade. I was there at his first solo Baja 500 in the pit crew and recently I was able to lend some support again. This time in the redesign of his website. (I haven’t touched the online store portion.) If you haven’t caught up with Kent lately I think you’ll enjoy browsing the Racing News. I’m planning on attending one of his races later this year and you’ll see some photos from me then. Check out the new design here.

Here’s some rough demos to get a better idea of her range.

Vilija said she wanted to put together a small site to start showcasing (sound casing?) her work so we put together www.vilijamarshall.com.

Here’s a look at the easy interface for editing on Picnik.

I’m doing more on the graphics side of things than photography of late so I thought I’d share a little of that. Here’s a simple logo I recently designed for Influence San Diego a website for the San Diego Social Media Awards. The Influence site is a great way to discover top blogs in San Diego. The blogs there are all nominated and voted on by the online community so you’re getting the benefits of crowdsourcing the discovery of great blogs.

Is my website broken? No I’ve actually does this on purpose. I’ve been thinking more about site usability lately and I realized that own site here wasn’t all that use-able. I’m on here more than anyone else and I realized that although I liked the textured background and some of the other visual niceties, it was also getting in the way. (Thanks also to some user feedback from my wife…”Which one is your last post?”)

So I’ve stripped it all out by applying a fresh theme and making a few customizations. My plan now is to add in detail only where it improves the overall experience over time. I still love graphics and robust, bold sites but I also feel like this will help me concentrate on the content. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by my little corner.

So sort of a slow week for photography.

So sort of a slow week for photography. Amazing how a sick pup, a dentist appointment, doctor’s appointments and a long work week eat into free time. Sheesh!

In stark contrast to the above is a quick shot from last week: a casual sunny parking lot portrait of my friend and colleague, the incredibly nice Ahna Fender. Ahna is a talented artist in addition to the preceding. Check out her art here at Artruckus.com.

Thank you, Ahna for having such a generous spirit and letting me take the snap. I wish I could have found a better background…like a houseboat would have been fantastic I think. These are the trade offs I suppose of “bloggety” photography. “Phoblography?”

So ends my 6th week of blog posts for Project 52. Thus far I’m both happy with and disappointed in the posts I’ve added. I’ll concentrate on the former along with the realization that it gives me plenty of room for improvement!

This past week I had the opportunity to team up on shoot with my good friend Karl from Dimension Three Architectural Illustrations. Karl was actually working while I was hard at play working on a shot for my latest #p52 post. Karl does amazing architectural illustrations and hopefully he’ll let me share his finished work here when he’s completed it.

But back to playing. Karl’s not missing a twin but here’s what they would look like if they were weird enough to dress exactly the same.

I also shot a quick 5 image panorama. It’s stitched here.
